When Clarke, a recently discovered comet, is to head to earth and burn up in its atmosphere, John Garrity (Gerald Butler), his estranged wife (Morena Baccarin), and their son throw a “watch party” at their home with neighbors. But when an unexpected phenomenon occurs, they have to flee for their lives where their only chance of survival may be in a faraway place in another country.
