COVID has caused havoc with the release schedule of a huge number of films. One of them was WONDER WOMAN 1984 (2020) which had been scheduled as a big summer blockbuster for 2020. After the COVID pandemic was determined not to be ending anytime soon, Warner Brothers/DC decided to release all their big budget films directly to HBO Max to help drive up the buzz for the new service. WONDER WOMAN 1984 was the first reaching that streaming service on Christmas day.
When federal law enforcement break up a black market of antiquities, they ship the items to the Smithonian where Dr. Barbara Minerva (Kristen Wiig) is assigned to identify the artifacts.
