Cosplayer Yaha Han’s Book Debuts

For immediate release: Yaha Han, professional cosplayer, model, and costume designer and favorite at conventions announces her new book.

I’m thrilled to finally be able to share that I am an author! My book “Yaya Han’s World of Cosplay” will be released by Sterling Publishing all across North America on August 4th 2020 (previously May 5th), with worldwide distribution soon following!

For this reason, I do not have a 2020 calendar prepared! I spent the first half of 2019 holed up in my work room writing a book! I apologize to everyone who has been looking forward to a calendar announcement, however, I believe that this book is a worthy replacement and I hope you will order it instead!

“Yaya Han’s World of Cosplay” is a “Guide to Fandom Costume Culture,” told through my unique point of view from within the cosplay community. Not only is this book an in depth look at how modern cosplay developed over the past 20 years, it also explores the sociology of fan costuming and discusses the positive as well as negative aspects of this art form. Lastly, it tells the story of how I went from a little girl in China to a globally known name in fandom and entrepreneur in America.

The book will be available in book stores in North America in paperback and as an e-book on 8/4/2020, but you can pre-order it now!

It would help me tremendously in the months leading up to the book release if you placed a pre-order and left a review on the listing page! If you have ever wanted to support me in any endeavor, please consider getting this book for yourself or as a gift.

I have to admit, writing a book was a completely new and unprecedented challenge, especially because I opted to not hire a ghost writer in order to tell this story in my own words. As a first time author and a non-native English speaker, this was by far the hardest thing I have ever done in my entire life. It was also a longtime dream, finally finally fulfilled, and I am incredibly proud of the end result. I hope it will resonate with die hard cosplay and costuming fans as well as those who have never cosplayed before or recently started their journey.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me and my cosplay activities through out the years. Without you, I never would have gotten the chance to work with an amazing publishing company such as Sterling, or experienced the countless memorable moments that wove together to make this book. Thank you so so much.
