Okay, Dark Discussions has hit the one hundred mark. That’s right, our 100th episode has come two years from our inception. As co-host Eric mentions in this episode: we have been somewhat unintentionally avoiding the big horror film classics. Why you ask? Well, everyone has spoken of them and to be honest college thesis have been written on them. So what more can your hosts have to say? Maybe not much but you can get their perspective at least.
Dark Discussions focuses their latest episode on the mother of all horror films, The Exorcist. Written by Academy Award winner William Peter Blatty, directed by Academy Award winner William Friedkin, starring five time Academy Award nominated actress Ellen Burstyn and with a cast that includes Linda Blair, Jason Miller, Max Von Sydow, and Lee J. Cobb, the film went on to be nominated for ten Academy Awards.
With former Academy Award winning actress Mercedes McCambridge voicing the demon and Linda Blair in an Oscar nominated role playing the child that is possessed, the film became an international sensation based on a book that was a New York Times best selling novel. For such an important story, Dark Discussions co-hosts said why not devote their 100th on one of the best. M.J. Preston, author of the fantastic novel The Equinox, joins in.
